Mindfulness Training for Professionals | MPT 502
The second course of the mindfulness training for professionals program, builds on the foundations of the first course (Conscious Presence & Inner Balance), deepening and expanding the theoretical knowledge and experiential learning you have gained. Within the course you will deepen your understanding of the origins and the application of mindfulness and meditative practice and become more fluent on how to integrate them effectively into a therapeutic, counseling or coaching framework and methodology.

Who Can Benefit
The program is addressed to psychologists, psychotherapists, mental health counsellors, family counsellors, nutritionists, social workers and yoga teachers. Prerequisite for participation is the previous completion of the program "Mindful Presence & Inner Balance".

Deepening Understanding

Theory and role of mindfulness and compassion in the context of Buddhist psychology.

Scientific framework and role of mindfulness and compassion in psychotherapy.

Expanding Practice

Orientation and introduction of mindfulness into therapeutic setting.

Understanding types and function of meditation practices.

Guidelines for selection, sequencing and structure of meditation practice.

Learning meditation guidance and inquiry skills.

Methodology
The training methodology is based on a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and experiential learning that aims to provide sufficient theoretical background, strengthening of individual skills and familiarization in the application of meditative practice in the context of the therapeutic approach.
The first part of the course covers the topics of getting to know and understand the role of mindfulness and compassion in the context of Buddhist psychology and modern psychotherapy. The second part includes familiarization with the methodology for integrating mindfulness and meditative practice into the therapeutic setting alongside learning the skills for guidance and inquiry.
The course also includes a "mini retreat” session in which you will have the opportunity to practice and refine your guidance and inquiry skills with the purpose of gaining confidence and comfort to effectively integrate mindfulness and meditation into your professional practice.
